I found out recently that I'm loose . . . . . . . . . . . . . . a loose knitter, that is !! A happy hooker, a yarn slut . . . . call me what you will !!
It seems that the stitches for my sweater turned out to be too big, and threw my gauge all off; if I had kept knitting away, the sweater would have fit a 6'4" man instead of me !!! So, I had to start from scratch on smaller needles . . . . . . twice !! As of today, we've found the size needles that allow me to get just the right number of stitches per inch for my lovely sweater . . . . YAY !!!! So I'm off and running, again !
Apparently there are advantages to being a loose knitter, though: I guess it's easier to just use smaller needles to get your gauge rather than train yourself to knit looser. As one fellow knitter told me, "Loose knitters always end up being happy knitters in the end." So in the spirit of growing up to be a happy knitter, I will revel in my looseness. And I'll need to purchase a red light for my craft room !!

"Loose knitters end up being happy knitters in the end." I think that might be a motto to live by! Just replace "knitters" with any other noun. :)
