A New Friend

We have a new addition to the Warren household . . .
. . . . meet Marty, our new furball !!!

For quite some time, Jack and I had been considering getting a second cat. We've been watching the humane society website for months to see if any furry friends caught our eye. Jack spotted this handsome guy recently, and after a little time in foster care for a cat cold, he became available for adoption yesterday. Jack went out during the day to meet him, and just loved him ! And because they could only "hold" him for us until the end of the day, I had to race over there after work to see him ! I loved him immediately, too, went through all of the adoption process . . . and brought him home with me last night !!

He's such a sweet, docile little guy, and so pretty ! He's got some Maine Coon in him, like Tibbs, so of course we loved him ! And he's quite the little lover, full of head-butts and licks . . . and he has the softest fur !

He's hanging out in the guest room for now, as we navigate the whole "introduction" process with Tibbs . . . . . . they spent most of the early a.m. hours talking to one another through the closed door ( and keeping Jack and I awake !). So far so good . . . !
Looking forward to spending some time with our new boy this weekend !

How fun! Marty looks like he's already made himself at home. I hope that Tibbs takes to him as well as you have. Sounds like things are going much better than when we brought Cheska home and Gatwick freaked out for two weeks. For the first week he just sat in a corner downstairs while Cheska cried her 3-month-old little heart out in the guestroom if someone wasn't with her at all times. It was exhausting. But if Tibbs and Marty are already talking with each other through the door you're way ahead of the game!

As long as you're there to guide them along the way and don't push them along faster than they're willing to go, they should be fine. But watch for the mood swings, some Coons are moody!

Coons can be moody, eh? That explains a lot about my Gatwick...

Thanks for the encouragement and advice, girls ! Things look good so far. They spent a bit of time together today, wandering around the house and sniffing and what not, all without event. Marty is a bit more playful than Tibbs, so Mr. Tibbs is adjusting to having a young'n (?) in the house ! We'll see how the Coons do !
