"Makes Me Smile" Monday

Today it's a tale (or tail !) of
kittens and mittens !!!

The first part of our story was not a smile-maker, unfortunately. Poor Mr. Tibbs has been battling some throwing up and hind end issues for the past several weeks. Jack took him to the vet last week, and came away with a clean bill of health and some meds to settle his stomach . . . the throwing up improved, but the hind end issues worsened. So, back to the vet we went today. Poor sweet boy . . . it was a traumatic visit of taking temperatures, cleaning out hind end glands, and IV fluids in the back . . . our fuzzy man was dehydrated and had lost almost a pound since last week ! I don't know who handled the visit worse, Tibbs or me . . . we were both crying at one point . . . but the assistant only had to hold him down ! So, now we're on the road to recovery, and Mr. Tibbs seems to feel better already . . . except for this little addition:

Poor guy has to wear a halo for the next several days, to keep him away from his back end. The minute I put it on, he started walking backwards around the house, desperately trying to back his way out of this contraption ! And when he started actually walking forward, he kept bumping into everything . . . walls, cabinets, stairs . . . I didn't know whether to laugh or cry again !!! He's eaten a little since we got home from work, and is resting peacefully on the couch . . . ! Only 2 more days of the halo !

As for the "mitten" part of the story . . . I finished my first mitten yesterday ! Not sure this one will be getting a mate, though . . . I'm really getting tired of that green yarn, even though I still have more leftover from my sweater. Maybe a trip to the yarn shop is upcoming . . . !

Happy Monday !!

Oh, Mr Tibbs! I am well-acquainted with the throwing up, hind-end issues with kitties, as well as the dreaded subcutaneous fluids. And I know how hard it is to watch them go through it. Here's to hoping he's feeling tibb-tastic very soon.
